The Jedi Rare Cancer Foundation was founded in 2021 as a living memorial to Jed Taxel. We inspire and empower scientific breakthroughs, clinical trials and better treatments for people with rare cancers.
Your grant powers the Rare Cancer Data Initiative, backed by $1 million from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s Biohub. It turns rare tumor samples, including archived ones, into the detailed data researchers need to find new treatments.
Founded by Jedi in 2024, the Alliance for Rare Cancers unites cancer centers, researchers and foundations nationwide to speed lifesaving treatments for rare cancer patients.
Next, we’re working to build a Rare Cancer Patient Network that connects patients and their doctors to the latest research, so every patient can get an accurate diagnosis and the best available treatment.
